Welcome to Mimies Notes: Journaling Helps to Build Life You Want

Hey there! I’m so excited you’ve found your way to Mimies Notes! pulls up a comfy chair and offers you a cup of tea

Let me tell you how this whole journey started because honestly, it’s a bit of a funny story. Five years ago, I randomly saw an Instagram post about Bullet Journaling. It was neat, organized and even aesthetic. Dreaming of making it at least a little bit similar to the others who were making journals so beautiful, I started my first Bullet Journal. Back then, my idea of organization was having countless sticky notes scattered across my desk and hoping I’d remember which one had that super important meeting time written on it (spoiler alert: I never did). However, once I started my first journal, I loved it.

It all started while I was looking at my work notes. It was messy, unorganised and hard to follow up, surrounded by those notorious sticky notes, when I realized something had to change. That’s when I stumbled across a YouTube video about bullet journaling, and let me tell you – it was like finding water in a desert.

I started small, with just a simple notebook and a pen. Nothing fancy, nothing Instagram-worthy, just me trying to get my life together one page at a time. And you know what? It worked. Like, really worked. Not only was I finally keeping track of everything, but I discovered something unexpected – I actually enjoyed the process.

As I dove deeper into the journaling world, I found myself experimenting with different styles, systems, and creative approaches. My first attempts at decorative spreads were… well, let’s just say they were “okay”. But with each attempt, I got better. I learned that not All the lines have to be perfectly straight to be beautiful and that sometimes the most effective layouts are the simplest ones.

What really got me hooked was seeing how journaling became more than just a planning tool – it became my daily meditation, my creative outlet, and honestly, my favourite part of the day.

I used to find so much comfort in journaling. It was a space where I could process my thoughts, reflect on my day, and capture little moments of gratitude. But as the demands of life grew — with two young babies needing my constant attention and care — journaling became one of the first things to fall by the wayside. The act of sitting down, finding the right words, and making time for myself seemed like an impossible task amidst the chaos of daily life. Slowly, I started to notice how much I was forgetting — not just events or milestones, but the small, tender moments that made each day special. The more I neglected journaling, the more distant I felt from myself. I realized that by not taking those few moments to write, I was losing a connection to my own thoughts and emotions. I wanted to build my life I want back in track.

That’s when the idea for Mimies Notes was born. I felt like I needed to get organized, connect my thoughts and emotions, and better plan my life purpose and goals, ultimately making the life I want. Then, I realized there were so many people out there, just like me, who needed encouragement to begin, reassurance that their journals didn’t need to be masterpieces, and a reminder that it’s okay to take it one page at a time. With Mimies Notes, I hope to be that friendly guide — someone who’s your journaling buddy, just a few steps ahead, sharing insights, and helping you rediscover your life and the joy of journaling without the stress. Together, we can make journaling a fulfilling and pressure-free journey.
